~Low Pike~
A featured fell is my way of studying each fell in turn and recording thoughts and observations.
A member of the "Fairfield Horseshoe" group of fells, Low Pike is popular with horseshoers, but also short-walkers from Ambleside and simply Low-Pikers who have a box to tick.
Low Pike
The above photo was taken from the walk along the back road between Rothay Park and Rydal. Low Pike is one of the few fells in Wainwright's Guides that has a described ascent without a distance indicated, although those good with figures can look at High Pike, see that HP's summit is 4 miles from Ambleside and the ridge route between the two is two thirds of a mile.

Here's a well-worn path. I've been studying the Wainwright and the path appears to be on the other side of the wall. Not to worry.
